Mike Neal The history behind Jer-a-Mi memory rocks. It was about 3 years ago a friend of mine lost her son to cancer, his name was Jer. He was a standout gymnast for the Oklahoma Sooner's. He passed away from lung cancer. Never smoked a day in his life. His mom came to me with an idea to put his name and the saying "Love ya bud " on polished rocks so she could give everyone at the funeral a rock. We made over 350 rocks for Jer. Soon after the funeral mom started getting photos from people with the rocks from all over the world. There were people who left his rock from Hawaii, Greece, France, among many other places. Little did I know 6 months later I would be making these rocks for my son Micheal. Losing my son has been the hardest thing in my life. It has changed my life drastically, the motivation has been gone, and finding my way around life has been very difficult . But I found that these rocks have helped me in ways I can't explain. I carry one with me at all times , even after 2 years. If I come across something I wish my son could see, I break out his rock and take a photo. This may sound strange to some, but I found it to be a way I can still have my son in my life daily... and that's how Jer-a-Mi rocks became. Which brings me to today, I got an order from someone who had seen my rocks and wanted to order some for a friend who had lost their daughter. The message I was to place on the rock broke my heart. Forever 5 .... she passed from a asthma attack.... I hope the parents get some comfort from these rocks, as I have. I hope I never have to make these rocks for another parent. But if this is something that you find might bring some comfort to someone, please contact us.
